As my chicks grow...

And as I find more time to get creative, I thought I would share some of my creations, as well as my time with others. Hopefully I will make new friendships and create lasting bonds over paper, adhesive, and embellishments. So sit back, relax, and let's share...have a cup of coffee, or tea, or in my case a Coke...lol... and let's just have a blast creating, finding new projects to make together, and gathering our supplies for future endeavors!

IDIC challenge #70

So, this weeks challenge them is Nature and is sponsored by Toucan Scraps ....I love the nature themed digis they offer! So many, you really need to check them out!
I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads and Stampin Up ink pads (yes, I combined them...lol...) to create the background. Be sure to check back later in the week to see the other color schemes I used for the same digi!
SO, onto todays card!
I mounted the image onto 2 shades of green cs and mounted that onto We R Memory Makers Hippity Hoppity PP, it is the "other" side of the main paper!
I stamped the sentiment in Black Dye ink  on coordinating green CS and trimmed it down. Mounted that onto the same dark green CS I used on the 2nd matte for the digi. Add some ribbon, tie a quicky bow and done! Once I got the background done, the rest came together very quickly!
Remember, check back later in the week for some more cards, made with the same image, but with different background colors! It is amazing the difference changing out one color makes!

New project for The Robin's Nest

So, I know I am late today...so sorry everyone...I had a bit of trouble with the medium I was using this week for this project...
This is the before pic...
Please, don't mind my "creative" mess...
I sanded the entire piece to rough up the stained finish. Then I basecoated it with Metallic Blue paint. I wanted a crackle finish....never tried crackle medium before...and it really is a learning experience...unfortunately, this is why I was late posting. I basecoated, painted the medium on, painted the light blue on top, and waited...let it dry...waited for the crackle....and it didn't crackle. ARGH!!! Lesson learned (after 2 tries): put the crackle medium on pretty thick. Make sure all paint is dry before applying medium. Make sure medium is dry before applying top coat of paint. Crackle occurs as this paint dries...ok, back to the project at hand.
I modpodged Glitter Snowflake Stripe from The Robin's Nest onto the bottom.
I used Precious Boy Diamond Dew Drops to make snowflakes on each side of the piece, inside and out.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out my project!

IDIC Challenge #69

For our challenge this week on IDIC Challenge Blog the theme is Sports! My being from the Pittsburgh Area...and being a STEELERS fan (GO Steelers!!! WOOT! WOOT!), I thought, why not make a masculine birthday card...with a Steelers...er, football theme.
Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Stamps ....you have GOT to check them out!!!! They have SO many awesome digis!
Anyway, onto my card for today!
Yep, I know there is no number on the jersey! There are so many AWESOME players on the Steelers team ;)

Anyway,  I left the inside of the card blank, so the person could write whatever their hearts desire... :)

IDIC challenge #68

This week Robyn's Fetish is our sponsor. I love the Fall Fun digi....it just evokes such FUN feelings! Our challenge this week is Anything Goes, but as a shaped card...
I used the Nestabilities Labels die to cut out the card and background paper. I used the Fall Fun digi from Robyn's Fetish and colored it with Copics. Then I used stickles in Copper and Peeled Paint for the leaves.
I cut out the image, and cut the leaves separately. I then pop dotted all the leaves and the girl up on the card.
I used the You Can Do It from Scrappy Moms Kids Inc stamp set for the inside sentiment.
Thanks for looking!

New Design Team post for The Robins Nest

Hi all! I made for you today a little desk set. With thoughts of school ( I always LOVED the start of school, and shopping for school supplies!) I just had to make something for say, a college or high school girl to take with her for notes and such...
Here is a pic of all the projects together...
I love, love, love the Little Girl Crown Glittered paper. First of all...this stuff is good quality! It is a nice heavyweight cardstock and the color is fabulous! I love chocolate brown and pink, add to that this is DOUBLE SIDED and wow....so, totally, LOVE IT!! (Huge smiles!)
So, on to telling you what I did!
This first piece is a covered notepad. I used a piece of the Little Girl Crown Glittered CS to cover an existing covered notepad. Now, I got the notepads at Target's Dollar Spot about  a year ago. I wasn't crazy about the pattern on the cover, but loved the size and the style...this little puppy was just made for me to restyle! And restyle I did! I added a scalloped circle punched from the other side of the same paper and then punched a smaller circle from, again, the same paper, making sure to keep the crown in the center. Then I used Mini Dewdrops in Pink Coral and glued them down with the Dew Glue (love this stuff, it is so awesome, and just the right size for the dew drops and the mini dew drops). I alternated the colors all around. Then I filled in around each dew drop and the center with Glossy Accents. I used velcro to attach the bottom of the scalloped circle to the flap on the notepad. All done, and SO CUTE!

Onto the next part....
I used the same paper on the post it note clipboard. One thing I LOVE about it, is...
it is reversible!!!
I used the same paper to cover the binderclip as well, and then put some mini dew drops across the middle of the clip. These are placed so that they do not interfere with the use of the clip!
I also used the same paper to make a matching pen. Just open the top of the pen, pull out the ink "part", wrap the paper around, and put back inside. All done in about 2 minutes!
Ok, that is all for now! Thanks for looking!

A few new cards...a made from SCRAPS!

Yep, my scrap bins (yes, that is plural bins) are officially overflowing. I have been carrying them with me where ever there is going to be a wait, or when I go to the playground with the kids and cut the "shapes" out of them...make them have nice straight cuts. It is so much easier for me if they are all cut into rectangles or squares...lol...so, I got some done, but not even CLOSE to all...lol
I made all the cards here today with only card bases and scraps. NO full sheets of paper. It is so....hhmmmm...FREEING! lol...I am so happy to be using up these scraps!
Ok, onto the cards!

ok, so I did use some ribbon and prima flowers...but those I had from other projects too. So, maybe, technically...lol...it all IS from scraps, one way or another!
Thanks for looking, please let me know what you think!

I am so sorry...the is the IDIC challenge #66 Let's Dance

I totally messed up. Had this done, and sat it beside my computer, then forgot about it...again, to my fellow IDIC challenge DT members, I am so sorry!
So, without further ado...
Here is Isobelle from Sylvie's Stamps ...
I colored the LOVELY Isobelle with Copic Markers. Used the Music Note embossing folder to emboss the purple cs behind Isobelle. Tied a ribbon to match on the bottom.
This is the inside of the card. The stamp is "Lifes Dance" by Hampton Art.
Thanks for looking, and tune back in tomorrow for my dp scrap cards...all made with dp and cs from my scrap pile!

IDIC Challenge #67

I have to tell you, I am in LOVE with the Elephantastic Digis! I used Emily for this challenge (#67 IDIC Challenge Blog) and she is just TOO CUTE!
I made a composition book first,
This was so much fun to do, so, I thought, why not make a card to go with it!!!
I colored Emily a little differently, as I love this stamp!!!
Anyway, that's all for today folks!!!
See you again, soon!
