As my chicks grow...

And as I find more time to get creative, I thought I would share some of my creations, as well as my time with others. Hopefully I will make new friendships and create lasting bonds over paper, adhesive, and embellishments. So sit back, relax, and let's share...have a cup of coffee, or tea, or in my case a Coke...lol... and let's just have a blast creating, finding new projects to make together, and gathering our supplies for future endeavors!

I had so much fun creating for this hop!!! I LOVE the colors Pinque Peacock has chosen for the March Release! They are BEAUTIFUL!!! I made a Thank You card and used the Floral Flower and beautiful topaz angel stick pin to really make it pop!

I "grunged" the flower up a bit with my trusty Tim Holtz distress ink (Walnut Stain, my fave!) and inked the edges of the blue card stock with it as well. I love that it looks old and worn now! :)

I used Memento Rich Cocoa to stamp the doily (stamp from MME The Sweetest Thing, Lavendar Cutie Pie) and the Thank you so much from the same set. The velvet ribbon and the rick rack ribbon are from an unknown company.

The finished card. It is a 6x6  size. The inside just has the same blue cardstock. I may add anothe stamped doily on the inside bottom cover, but that is still up in the air!

Thank you for checking my project out!

I know, I have been MIA...but with VERY good reason...

I know, it has been a LONG while...well, a lot has happened, and honestly I am STILL reeling from it all...You see, in July my husband got VERY SICK, had a terrible infection that we couldn't seem to get rid of....when he seemed better from infection, his sugar would go out of control. He had a very mild heart attack in July...and never got well...he spent all of the summer and much of the fall in the hospital. Then, the doctors told me, our home was making him sick. We had a problem with mold, caused by a broken water/drainage pipe in the street...We immediately began looking for a new house. We moved into a hotel while waiting for repairs to the house October 7, we were going to rent...and while there he had a massive heart attack, in front of 4 out of 5 of our children. He died that night... October 17thand honestly, a large part of me died with him.
We moved in with my parents for a while (talk about a TIGHT fit!!!! Six of us plus my parents and 2 youngest brothers...in a 3 bedroom ranch) THANK GOD they finished the basement a few years ago!
I looked for a new place to rent for months. Finally, we found one...close to my parents, good school district, big enough for all of us! And NO MOLD!
Honestly, I had lost my mojo once he died...he was not only my husband, he was my best friend, my soul mate, the man God had chosen for me...
I have been invited to MANY blog hops and activities/events on Facebook , but just haven't had the desire to DO anything...the other night, I had been invited to an event called "Green With Envy" and I thought...might need to try that..and I did...wow...had a good time, laughed so hard and so much, much more than I have in many months...So, this is also a HUGE thank you to Pinque Peacock
The "girls" have been so great!!! And they have some really awesome things!!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the stick pins, and the stick pin angels...omgosh, beautiful! I won some flowers at the event and I CAN NOT wait to get them!!!! Ihave SO MANY ideas for projects to use them on!!!! If you get a chance, and if you read down this far in my post ;) please go to the link and check them out!!!!
Til tomorrow...

DT Entry for Tuesday Throwdown

So, I have been working with a number of different medias and types of projects lately, not just scrapping!
This project is for the Design Team Entry at Tuesday Throwdown!

First I have the hairbow holder I made. I LOVE zebra and hot pink together!!!

I had so much fun making this, I will be making more of them, as I had a store in town ask me to make some for them! YAY!~

Then, I made a doorknob hanger for the same Little Diva! Added LOTS of bling to this one! Will be making a lot more of these, they are not very hard to make, and they are well received...and I know more than a few people who will be having babies in the next few months!

Thank you so much for looking!

A redo ;)

Ok...so I am not sure if I ever told you how much I love to yard sale, thrift shop, and goodwill dig :) it is one of my favorite ways to fine inspiration!
So...this pice was one of my yard sale finds...before it was very non descript...and I suppose a little ugly to most...but for me, inspiration hit!

I used krylon satin black (my new fave basecoat!) To paint it after removing the old corkboard, screws for notepad, and covering the key hooks...o, and removed the faux leather "embellishments"
Amd the finished piece...

Hope you enjoy!

A little project i have done :)

I got these hangers as plain wooden ones at Micheals for $2.50 each...I bought 5 but only have pics of the one. Sorry :-!

So, I used spring green folk art acrylic paint to coat the hanger. I didn't sand it as I usually do, but it turned out ok.  :-)
I used 3 coats for good even coverage. I used the green patterned paper (will check on the pack it came from and add it once I can get to my craft area). I traced the outline of the hanger onto the paper and attached it with modpodge. I used my fingers to rub out the bubbles. I let that dry and then sanded around all the edges. I added a little paint to the edge of the paper to blend. Once dry I added my epoxy sticker and tied coordinating ribbon to the metal base of the hanging part of the hanger. Then I sprayed it with acrylic sealer. I did use 2 coats...note...please remember to do this part outside as the fumes can make you VERY sick.
Thanks for stopping by!

Goal setting and followers...

So, I have decided to set a personal goal of posting to my blog at least 4 times a week. For those who are "veteran" bloggers, do you think this is an attainable goal? I have many projects in my head...just need to get them applied! Hoping this will make it a bit easier to do more for the shop and more personally :-) look for me soon!
Happy Scrappin'!
