As my chicks grow...

And as I find more time to get creative, I thought I would share some of my creations, as well as my time with others. Hopefully I will make new friendships and create lasting bonds over paper, adhesive, and embellishments. So sit back, relax, and let's share...have a cup of coffee, or tea, or in my case a Coke...lol... and let's just have a blast creating, finding new projects to make together, and gathering our supplies for future endeavors!

Altered Word

Hello there!
Just wanted to pop in and show you what I have been working on the last few days.
This was a set of letters from Oriental Trading.
They include a bunch of wooden flowers and bells and ribbons to decorate with, but I wanted something a little different. So....I painted the letters with acrylic paint. I have to say, I used Apple Barrel (Plaid), Folk Art, and Adirondack Acrylic Pain Dabber which I poured out onto a styrofoam plate and used a sponge brush to apply). Out of the three of them, the Adirondack is the BEST by far! I didn't need more than one coat to cover. It didn't use a lot of the paint. And, It looks great!

For the first letter, F, I sanded and then painted the letter with Red Apple. This one required a second coat. After I let it dry overnight, I used ModPodge to apply the patterned paper. This is from Anna Griffin but I am not sure of the name of the line.
I used flowers from Recollections Boutiqe Fleur, Prima Island Pastel (the yellow one, more about that later!), a few unknown flowers, and the smallest orange flowers are also Primas (Got daisies?). I also used rhinestoness from the dollar spot at Target.

The A is painted with the Adirondack Brights Acrylic Pain dabber (Sunset Orange). The flowers are the same as above.
The M is painted with Folk Art acrylic paint. It is a shade of pink, but I cannot remember the name, sorry. If I find it later I will add it! The flowers are the same.

The I is painted with the Adirondack Acrylic paint (Sunset Orange). I used ModPodge, once again, to attach the patterned paper (Anna Griffin). I also coated all the letters with a coat of Modpodge as a topcoat. I used the same flowers.

The L has Anna Griffin paper attached to it as well, with ModPodge, same line. The flowers are the same. I painted the L with the pink acrylic paint before doing anything else.

The Y is painted with the red acrylic paint. I used the most flowers on it, as I wanted a cascade of flowers to help pull the word "FAMILY" together. I used all the colors in the flowers that are on the other letters.

Now, about the flowers. I used Scarlet Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels to spray the pastel yellow flowers from Primas Island Pastel collection. It made the flower a beautiful red orange and totally helped pull all the colors together. I used Ranger's Glossy Accents to adhere the flowers to the letters and to adhere them together.

The flowers that were from the Recollections Boutique Fleur were a beautiful shade of pink (which I didn't need to alter at all) and also a cream flower that I sprayed with the Scarlet Glimmer Mist. I also sprayed a few of the smallest orange flowers (from the Prima Got Daisies collection) with the Scarlet as well.

Thank you so much for looking, see you again real soon!

Spring is HERE!!!

Well, the day started out beautiful! But it sure did get "soupy" out! The springtime storms came through...and with them came the rain! So, I figure, I will show you a few of my latest Springy projects!

I got these large gold paper clips from Staples. I used Bazzill cs and punched it with the large scallop punch from Stampin Up and the smaller 1 3/8 circle punch. I stamped and inked them with a variety if stamps and ink.

I used the Forever Young cart to make the little purses. I used either the Stampin Up large scallop punch and 1 5/8 circle punch for some of the purses with an Easter stamp from JoAnn's dollar spot. Others were decorated with 3D stickers from Walmart. I filled these with either the foil wrapped Easter eggs or M&M packs. I punched the label with the Stampin Up label punch and stamped it with Palette ink from The Angel Company. The stamp was from the dollar section, again at JoAnn's. The purses are cut from DSP from Oriental Trading's Pastel Paper Pack.

For this gift bag I used the Pooh and Friends cart. All paper is Bazzill.

I LOVE Create A Critter.....have to say that!!! I used DSP from The Angel Company. The frog and label are cut with Bazzill cs. I put stickle on his crown for the bling. I stamped "TOAD-ally Fabulous" from My Pink Stamper Stampset "Punny-liscous" I have no idea where the ribbon came from. Used the Label punch from Stampin Up. Used a white gelly pen for the eyes.

Ok, I have to say....I love Big Bird...he is one of my favorite Sesame Street characters. I cut him using the Sesame Street friends and used Bazzill for him.

Made this gift bag using the Sweethearts cartridge for the dove. I layered the "for you" cut with the Sweethearts cart as well. Used bazzill for all.

I made these covered clothespin magnets. Covered them with paper from the Oriental Trading Pastel Paper pack. I used the large scallop punch from Stampin Up and the 1 3/8 circle punch from Stampin Up. I attached 3 D embellishments from Walmart to the circle. I attached a magnet to the back.

This is a post it note holder I saw the original idea on youtube. Stampin With Dawn. I used Bazzill cs for the base and the layering. The cupcake is from Kaiser Crafts. I LOVE their bling!

One of my favorites! I used the Sugar and Spice lite cart to make this. I "frosted" the hood, handle, and wheels of the carriage with icicle stickles. Also frosted the words "Little Princess"

I found a tutorial for a pencil/treat holder on youtube, but can't remember who it was that did it. If you know, please let me know so I can give them proper credit. I used BoBunny Easter paper for the DSP and Bazzill for the CS. I put 4 pencils in each one and tied a piece of ribbon around each. After I put it in a bag I tied it with some curling ribbon.

Well, that is it for now, be talking to you all soon!
